Residential fire damage restoration in Fayetteville and Northwest Arkansas
Smoke, soot and the water that put the fire out all need a plan. Surfco answers at any hour and stays with your family until the house is settled.
Chapter 01
Smoke goes where the fire did not
A house fire leaves more behind than the room that burned. Smoke and soot travel through your air ducts and settle into small crevices far from the flames, which is why our fire restoration specialist inspects and tests every area of the property before anything else happens. That thoroughness is what keeps a house from smelling like the fire for months afterward.
At the first inspection we take soot samples and photos for your insurance company, so they can properly reimburse you for the fire damage. Fires cannot be predicted, so neither can the hour. If your home in Fayetteville or anywhere across Northwest Arkansas has been hit, call 479-287-6205, day or night, and a crew is on the way.

Five stages from first inspection to a home that smells like home
Fire will usually damage or destroy walls, windows and roofing, so the property is secured first. We board up missing windows and walls and put tarps on damaged roofs, which keeps the weather out while the work goes on. Then comes the water. The fire department used it to put the fire out, and it does its own damage, so removal begins right away and takes out most of it. Dehumidifiers and air movers dry whatever remains.
Cleaning is next. We use professional cleaning solutions and fire damage restoration equipment to pull smoke and soot out of the home, and depending on how severe the fire was, that can take several days to a week or two. Air filtration devices with special charcoal filters cleanse the air while we clean surfaces, contents and belongings back to pre-loss condition.
The last stage is the smell. Anyone who has forgotten a pie in the oven knows how stubborn smoke odor is. Surfco has over 70 years of combined experience removing it from homes. We locate every cause of the odor and neutralize it completely, because covering it up only lasts until the next warm day.
Chapter 03
Working with your home insurance company, then rebuilding
We work with your home insurance company to minimize the hassle, so you are not decoding a claim while your family is displaced. The soot samples and photos from day one go to your insurer, and we handle every aspect of the restoration and repair so you do not have to.
Surfco is a construction company as well as a restoration company, so the crew that cleans the smoke can also renovate and re-construct what the fire took. Drywall, wood floors, a fireplace: one contractor from the first call to the finished room. The goal stays simple. Your home and your belongings back in their previous shape, and your family settled after a hard few weeks.
