Dry ice blasting for homes in Fayetteville and across Northwest Arkansas
Dry ice pellets lift mold, soot and old paint off your home without sanding, scratching or leaving anything behind to clean up. Call Surfco any hour.
Chapter 01
Why dry ice instead of sanding or chemicals
Sanding takes a layer of your house with it. Wire brushing scratches whatever it touches. Chemical treatments leave something behind that has to be cleaned up in its turn. Dry ice blasting works differently. Surfco fires high-velocity, high-density dry ice pellets at the surface, and the pellets evaporate on impact. The contaminant comes off, and the pellets turn to gas instead of becoming one more thing to sweep, rinse or haul away.
That is why Surfco describes dry ice blasting as non-abrasive, non-toxic and non-conductive. There is no residue and no scratching, and no new waste stream. There is also no wasted water and no wasted sand, so the room is not soaked or buried in grit while the work goes on. For a family that has to keep living in the house, that is a lot less to recover from afterward.
Dry ice blasting removes the need for labor-intensive manual sanding and wire brushing. Surfco says its remediators are specially trained on the cryogenic blasting machinery, and that the precision of the work is unparalleled in the field. Quicker and more thorough than chemical treatments or sanding is how the company puts it.

Where it earns its place inside a home
Surfco uses dry ice blasting for mold remediation, fire damage restoration, asbestos abatement and lead paint abatement, among other jobs. When the problem is soot after a fire, the aim is the same as with mold: clean the surface and leave the structure alone. When the problem is old paint, the layer comes off without sand thrown through the house.
Surfco says the method is gentle enough for delicate materials like wood and tile, and safe for use on electrical materials as well as most other surfaces. Those are the places a homeowner worries about most: original trim, a tile floor, the wiring behind a wall. It is a cold, dry pass, not a flood of water, which matters in a room that is already damp from a loss.

At home, at a business, or on a surface that needs a different method
Own a business property instead? Surfco runs the same method at commercial scale. See commercial dry ice blasting, where the list of machinery Surfco cleans reads: Electrical equipment, Heat exchangers, Evaporators, Generator fans, Transformers, Stator and rotors, Gas turbine cleaning.
Some jobs call for a physical blasting medium rather than dry ice, such as graffiti or old paint on masonry. That work is on the residential media blasting page. Not sure which fits your surface? Describe it through the contact page and Surfco will point you the right way.
